JetNet - A best practice for Europe
Partnership between Dutch industry, government and education sector succesful.
European Commission
President José Manuel Barroso said Jet-Net is a role model for Europe,
after being presented with the Dutch Jet-Net anniversary book by Jeroen
van der Veer. They both stressed the importance of partnership between
high-tech companies, government agencies and schools for inspiring
talented young people to seek their careers in technology.
Jet-Net, Youth and Technology Network Netherlands, was established in
November 2002 as a partnership between the Dutch industry, the
government and the education sector. At the beginning of 2008, the
network consists of thirty national and international companies,
representatives of two government ministries, trade organisations, and
the national Science and Technology Platform. A hundred and forty seven
general-secondary and pre-university education schools (over 30% of all
general-secondary and pre-university schools in the Netherlands)
participate in the network.
